Dear Parents,
Firstly we want to thank everyone for their extremely generous donations
to the swim baskets which are going to be fabulous. By waiting on
line we were able to secure an Ipad 2 for one of the prizes!
However, when we were uncertain about our ability to get one at the
Apple Store, we also ordered one on line and it has arrived early.
If anyone has just lost track of time, meant to donate something but did
not get around to it, it's not too late. If you would like to make
a small cash donation towards the second Ipad 2, we will be able to
offer two instead of just the one.
Please let either me or Marisa know if you are interested.
See you next week!

As you know, each year we designate one meet to be

The Senior Meet will be on February 9 versus Mt.
Olive. .
Please get back to me and let me know if you would
be willing to be the junior parent coordinator and we can exchange some
ideas and I can provide more details.

Tentative Morris County Meet Swimmers
1/21/2011
Dear everyone,
Attached is the
tentative list of swimmers for the Morris County Meet. Coach G
will go over this with the kids next week.
See you tomorrow!
MEET INFORMATION FOR SATURDAY, JANUARY 22 -PLEASE READ
1/21/2011
Dear Parents:
With the school closure today we are going to have to merge the two B
Meets into one Meet. Please take note of the following logistics:
· Warm ups are at 1:30 –
Swimmers need to be at the pool at 1:30. Girls – please look for
any entry changes when you arrive. If ANY Swimmers now CANNOT make
this meet due the date change PLEASE EMAIL COACH G TO LET HER KNOW RIGHT
AWAY SO SHE CAN ADJUST THE MEET SHEETS.
coachg09@gmail.com
· Kids who are working
the meet need to be there at 2 pm. Swim Team members not swimming
are expected to be at the meet and available to work and help out.
· Parents – with all of
the rescheduling there are many conflicts now with work assignments.
We are relying on your flexibility to step up and help out. There
will be a need for timers, and people to work concessions and
admissions. AND, most importantly, Clean up will start immediately
following the meet and we need as much help as we can get. With
the boys and girls swimming at one meet, we are depending on parents
being present and willing to give a hand. Thank you in advance for
your teamwork and support.
· The Meet will start at
3 pm and is projected at this point to end at 8 pm
· Concession Stand will
be open (assuming we will have sufficient volunteers to man it) and we
will have the traditional swim team pasta as well as sandwiches and
snacks.
Other Important Notes:
· Additional emails will
be out shortly regarding County Meet, January 29
· SAVE THE DATE! -
the annual Swim Team Banquet will be on April 17 from 1 pm to 5 pm at
the Madison Hotel. More details to follow
· Basket Raffle – Put
your creative hat on and start thinking about donations for the ever
popular Basket Raffle which we have at the Swim Banquet. Details
to follow.
Thank you!

Upcoming B Meets
1/19/2011
http://www1.mysignup.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi?datafile=mhsboosters
Dear Parents:
As you know we have the big crunch coming this
weekend with the B Girls Meet on Friday and the B Boys Meet on Saturday.
I have again attached the link for sign up volunteers as we may end up
needing more timers and will have to cut the concession short to
redirect volunteers from concession sales to timing if we continue
to lack sufficient help. Please have a look and see if you can
take a spot.
For Friday night, please check in with Deenah
Lopinto when you arrive.
For Saturday please check in with Sue Cortley or
Bruce Diller.
Please give Feedback on Date for Chatham Meet reschedule
1/18/2011
Dear Parents,
Coach G is trying to reschedule today's meet and is
looking at 6:15 pm on January 26. This meet is for the Divisional
Championships and Coach is trying to get it in before the cut off date
for States.
She is trying to get feedback to see if this is an
exam night for any of the swimmers. If you know and can respond or
if you can find out and respond it will help her determine whether or
not this is a feasible date.
From Coach G regarding B Meet Entries
1/18/2011
Parents:
The B
Meet entries are still tentative at this time as I have to make
sure I didn't miss anybody and check with the kids to make sure everyone

KEEP THE SPIRIT ADS COMING!
1/16/2011
Congratulations to our Boys and Girls teams for a
great showing in Saturday's A invitational meet! To further show our
support for our swimmers, why not place a spirit ad or a spirit gram in
our meet programs? If you did not get a spirit ad in time for
Saturday's A meet, it is not too late to place one now. There are still
3 big meets coming up. The Girls B and Boys B invitationals are this
coming weekend and the Morris County Championship is on January 29th.
Show your support for your favorite swimmer by placing a spirit gram
and advertise your business through a spirit ad at the same time.
MHS Teams Wins "A" Meet Invitational and Thank You
1/15/2011
If you have not heard, the Girls Team won the "A"
Meet Invitational with a comfortable margin over second place Mendham.
The Boys Team also won but not before a thrilling 400 free style relay
that gave them a win over second place Randolph. There were many
great individual performances as will as the super team performances.
As details are available they will be posted on the web site.
Thanks to all the parents who provided donations and made time to help
us out today. The meet went smoothly with everyone pitching in.
Also a thank you to two for our swimmers from the class of 2010, Ryan
Diller and Jack West, who both came out to help today.
Don't forget our two "B" meets are this coming weekend. The Girls
Team at 4pm on Friday and the Boys Team at 3pm on Saturday. If you
have not signed up to help out and make a donation please do so to help
us make sure these two meets go smoothly also.

Hi everyone,
Our A meet entries for tomorrow are posted on our
website. Be sure to check it out.
For the Meet tomorrow - Last Email, promise
1/14/2011
Dear Parent Volunteers,
The current estimated finish time for the meet
tomorrow is between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m. For those of you who have
kindly (and we do appreciate this!) volunteered to clean up, please note
this earlier than anticipated end time and please arrive a little
earlier. For the volunteers working in the last shift, it is
likely that your two hour shift will end early and if you could stay to
help in the clean up it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks to all of you who volunteered.
MHS BOOSTERS

will warm up at 8.
When you arrive, please check in with Maria Cataldo
if you arrive BEFORE noon and with Anne Kostyak if you are scheduled
AFTER noon.

Updates on Pasta Party and Swim Meet (time change and
responsibilities)
1/12/2011
Hi everyone,
Hope you are home enjoying a snow day! Just
some notes regarding the upcoming team events:
Pasta Party
The Sophomores will host the Pasta Party this

Center) BUT will end at
8:30 instead of 9 pm.
The Sophomores will be responsible for staying to help with the clean up
of the Community Center.
Swim Meet - Saturday January 15
Swimmers will need to be at the pool at 8 am.
The meet will start at 9 am. Some volunteers will be there
earlier, please feel free to drop off your food donations early.
Please contact Kerry Manning if you still wish to donate bagels or baked
goods. With 10 teams participating Coach G expects this meet to
run for approximately 4 hours and end around 1 pm. Please
note that swimmers who ARE NOT swimming in this event may still have
responsibilities at the Meet per an earlier email. If
they cannot make the time of the assignment it is THEIR responsibility
to get a substitute and notify Coach G.
Thank you to all of you who have participated in
this meet through donations of time and food.

You have probably heard, but practice is cancelled today.
IMPORTANT NOTE FROM COACH G
1/7/2011
Dear
Swim Team Parents,
What a
great season we are having so far! I would have never have pictured
both teams being undefeated at this point in the season with swimmers
qualified for MOC's already. Every meet the times just keep coming
down. They are all working really hard and continue to amaze me.
Now we
are about to enter the busiest and most important time of our season:
CHAMPIONSHIPS!!. WE NEED
YOUR HELP and continued support over the next
three weekends. I know everyone is busy, we are all running
10 different directions; taking kids here there and everywhere while
working full time jobs is never easy, but we ask you to find a way to
give your time over the next few weekends to support your child's team
during these meets. Parent participation is a key critical
element to the successful management of the Invitational meets.
The Morristown Swim Invitationals Jan. 15th and Jan. 21 & 22 along with
the Morris County Swim Championships is where we generate most of our
funds. The money raised goes directly back to your kids - that's right
- your kids!! It helps to offset the cost of the banquet and purchase
awards for every swimmer. It enables us to purchase supplies that are
no longer provided by the athletic department due to cash strapped
budgets.
It's
because of these meets that we don't CUT swimmers and we give everyone,
regardless of ability, a chance to compete. This also means that ALL
parents, regardless of the grade or level of swimmer, are expected to
support the team through some volunteerism. We are talking over
120 kids (thats about 8% of the student body) With that many swimmers
in three big meets THERE IS A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF WORK TO DO!! Please
review your schedule carefully over the next few weeks and see what you
can do to help us - an hour here or there goes along way. Please review
the emails sent out by the MHS Boosters and find a time slot that works
for you. We can use your help in so many ways: timing,
concessions, admissions, etc. I know that it has been well
communicated; please make a commitment!
Besides, if you haven't figured it out this time goes so fast. In the
blink of an eye they will be graduating and moving on to that next
level. Ask any senior parent and they will tell you it seemly like
yesterday that their child started at Morristown High School. Enjoy
these moments, they are the backbone of memories your child will carry
with them for a lifetime.
Get
Ready gear up and share the excitement with us.
Have a
Healthy, Happy, New Year,
Donna

URGENT PLEASE READ REGARDING CHANGE OF DATES
1/6/2011
http://www1.mysignup.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi?datafile=mhsboosters
Dear Parents, You may have already heard from
your swimmer that the B meets have switched dates due to the
availability of other teams. This means that the Boys B Meet which
was originally scheduled for Jan 21 will now be on Jan 22 and the Girls
Meet originally scheduled for Jan 22 will now be on Jan 21. Coach
G had to do this to accommodate other teams.
I have re-attached the link for sign ups so you can
re-visit and change your date if necessary to attend the meet of your
swimmer. In order to do this, find your name, click "UNDO" put in
the password you used when you signed up and then resign up on your
preferred date.
If you had not already signed up - great news!
You can start right now!
Please also be on the look out for an email which
will address our needs for food donations for the Jan 15 Meet. As
you know we have a great concession stand and will be looking for
bagels, baked goods, fruit and pasta! We thank you in advance for
your contributions.
We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience,
but the need to change the date was necessary to get greater
participation. Thanks for your flexibility and understanding.
MHS Boosters and MHS Coaches
Pasta Party, etc
1/5/2011
Dear Parents:
Reminder that there is a Pasta Party on Friday
January 14 at the Morris Plains Community Center. This is being
coordinated by Lisa Paul and Usha Tatacher and hosted by the Sophomore
Class.
This Pasta Party will kick off a 4 Meet sequence
beginning with the A Meet Invitational on the 15th. Thank you to
all the parents who have volunteered. Unfortunately, we are still
lacking sufficient volunteers and I have to again ask you to review the
list below and give some of your time to support your swimmer and the
team. The volunteer roster is further depleted due to the conflict
of the HS meet and some club meets. PLEASE, PLEASE,
PLEASE do your part.
In fact, we have resorted to soliciting alumni and
alumni parents to take up the slack.
While most parents have signed up at least once,
there are many who have not signed up at all. As irritating as it
is for you to receive these emails is as embarrassing as it is to have
to write them and beg you to support this team. Please review the
list on the attached link and help the team. We are particularly
short at the end of the meets for clean up.

Volunteer Check in Position
1/3/2011
Dear Parents:
In addition to the other spots we need filled, we
also need to have a few shifts for a person who will be responsible to
check in the volunteers and make sure that the staffing is appropriate.
As the day will be from roughly 7:30 to early afternoon, we can
also split this into shifts.
Please let Maria Cataldo know if you can take on
this position.
Upcoming Meets
1/4/2011
Dear Parents:
Happy Holidays! As anticipated we are now
facing several large invitational meets in a compressed period of time
and need your help and support.
A file is attached which shows our current status.
At this point we are woefully short of help in all meets:
- A Meet on 1/15 - 50% signed up
- B Meet Boys - 20% signed up
- B Meet Girls - 30% signed up
- County Meet - 50% signed up
If your swimmer has met the cut off times for the A
Meet you have been previously notified. If you have not been
notified then your swimmer will be participating in the B Meet and we
desperately need your help!
Please review the attached file and let us know
where you can participate. You can sign up via the link below.
http://www1.mysignup.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi?datafile=mhsboosters
I can assure you that we will need to keep
requesting your help until we have the time slots filled.
Please remember that your participation supports the team's fundraising
which defrays the costs of team participation and events such as the
Annual Banquet. With such a large team, we expect that soliciting
parent participation should be easy. Please don't let the swimmers
down.
Thank you for your anticipated support and
cooperation.

January 15 Invitational
1/3/2011
Dear Parents
Coach G has provided the names of the swimmers who
have made the time cuts for the upcoming A Invitational (or are very,
very close) and your swimmer is on the list.
As you know we are still actively seeking
volunteers to assist us at this meet as well as the ones which follow
closely thereafter. At this point, only half of
the necessary slots are filled for the 15th and we are in desperate need
of additional help for this meet. Attached you will see the status
of each meet.
As your swimmer will be at the A Invitational and
we assume that you will be attending the meet, we are requesting that
you sign up to volunteer in some capacity, if you have not already done
so (if you have.....THANKS!)
Additional follow up emails will be sent to the
Parent population, but we are looking for you to participate in this
meet to support your swimmer and the team.
Please review the attached file which indicates
open time slots. You can sign up via
http://www1.mysignup.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi?datafile=mhsboosters
Thank you in advance for your anticipated teamwork
and cooperation.

Monday December 27 Practice Cancelled!!!
12/26/2010
Dear Parents -- Happy Holidays! Donna has
decided to proactively cancel practice for Monday, December 27 which was
scheduled from 10 to 12 given the anticipated snow.
Practice will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday from
10 to 12.
Please let any parents or swimmers who may not read
email frequently about this cancellation.

January Meets Volunteer Sign-up
12/19/2010
As you may have heard, January is our busiest
month. Along with the regular dual meets we have four special
meets that we host and where we need parent volunteers and
donations. The four meets are:
- 1/15 "A" meet invitational
- 1/21 Boys "B" meet
- 1/22 Girls "B" meet
- 1/29 County Championships
These meets are hosted by our team. They are
all held at our pool. Your child will be participating in one or
more of these meets. Most importantly though, these meets
are major component of our fund raising efforts. Donations of
food and drinks are sold at the concession. We collect money for
admission and from the sale of programs. We also sell
clothing items. All of the proceeds from these meets are used to
offset the cost for our swimmers at the annual award banquet held in
April. The money can only be raised with parent volunteers and
donations.
There are many jobs that need to be done at each meet. For the "A"
meet and the county championship we need over 50 volunteers for each
meet. For the two "B" meets we need about 35 volunteers per
meet.
The link below will take you to the online sign up form. The
sooner you volunteer the more choice you have for open jobs and time
slots.
http://www1.mysignup.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi?datafile=mhsboosters
Please sign up as soon as possible. We need
to make sure we have the coverage we need and begin with the other
logistics behind hosting these meets. We need all parents to
step forward and commit to at least one of these four events and
if your child is swimming in more than one meet, please volunteer for a
second meet assignment. You child will be able to tell you
which meets they are likely to be participating in.
If you have any questions about times or what the various jobs entail
please contact Maria Cataldo at
mcat72805@yahoo.com.
We will be sending separate requests for the donations we need at
each meet.
Thanks for your support of the MHS Swim Boosters and for supporting your
child's participation on the team by helping us at these special meets.

Holiday Pasta Party Reminder
12/15/2010
Parents,
Just a reminder that the Holiday Party will be this
Friday, December 17 from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Morris Plains Community
Center. This party is hosted by the Junior Class; Junior Class
parents should contact Donna Goldstein at
deegoldstein@hotmail.com
for any questions regarding your donations.
If your swimmer wishes to participate in a grab bag
gift exchange please have him or her bring a wrapped gift ($10-$15 max)
Swim Team Clothing orders
12/15/2010
Dear Parents,
A partial clothing order was distributed on Tuesday
and last week. If your swimmer ordered clothing and did NOT get
them, please ask the coaches as they are stored in the office. We
still have not received the long sleeve tee shirts and the rugby shirts.
Unfortunately, due to the holiday season rush, the rugbys will NOT be in
until approximately mid-January. We were optimistic for a two week
turnaround, but this was impossible due to the holiday seasonal orders.
Pasta Donations
12/12/2010
Dear Junior Parents,
When Donna and I last communicated she was
still short 7 to 8 pasta trays/dishes. If you are able to donate
pasta please contact Donna directly at
deegoldstein@hotmail.com
or via the sign up genius.
Thank you
Sue
Reminder: Pasta Party on Friday, December 17
12/10/2010
Dear Parents,
Just a reminder that the Junior Class is hosting
the Holiday Pasta Party which will be held this coming Friday, December
17 at the Morris Plains Community Center. Donna Goldstein is
coordinating the event and has interacted directly with the Junior Class
parents for donations. (A separate note will be sent to Junior
Class Parents to update the status of donation needs)
At this party there will be a grab bag gift
exchange and I wanted to give you a little notice about this because if
you are like me you need to get these errands done over the weekend and
this is a particularly busy time. If your swimmer wants to
participate please buy and wrap a small gift. Last year's
suggested limit was $10; please check with your swimmer about any
announcements about this year's suggested limit.
I also need to take this opportunity again to
remind you that we will be having an extremely busy (but exciting)
January season and will really need your help at the various meets.
Maria Cataldo will again be coordinating timers, etc and we will also be
looking for donations of a variety of baked goods, pasta, and other food
items to sell at the concession. The compression of these meets
will make getting volunteer challenging so please, please, please, take
this as your chance to participate! Seriously, IT WILL BE FUN!
all the best,
Sue and Bruce
December17th Holiday Pasta Party
12/8/2010
Hi Everyone,
The Junior's are hosting the Holiday Pasta party on
December 17th. I am coordinating this party and using the sign-up
genius service. As of today, I have only heard back from a handful
of parents. If you have responded, thank you, and you can ignore
this message. If you have not responded, please check the sign-up
genius invite I sent out to see what is still needed. I need more
pasta trays, salads, water, fruit platters and more.....any help is
appreciated. I know this is a very busy time of year,
but a little bit of help from a lot will make it easier for everyone!
Thank you very much for your help.
Donna
Thank You! (and other notes)
12/5/2010
Thank you to all the parents who volunteered their
time or donated items for the meet on Friday! It can't be said
enough - your support is what makes the Swim Team so special.
A HUGE
thank you to Gerard and Anne Marie Macchia for hosting the Parent
Social on Saturday! What a wonderful way to kick off the holidays;
seeing old friends and having an opportunity to get to know new parents.
It was really a fabulous (and delicious) evening.
Coming Events:
The
Holiday Pasta Party
will be hosted by the junior class swimmers and is being coordinated by
Donna Goldstein who I know is already in touch with junior parents.
Coach G will be working with the juniors to plan the party activities.
This event will take place on Friday, December 17 at the Morris Plains
Community Center.
January will be a very intense month so I wanted to
give everyone a heads up and ask you to please begin to evaluate where
you can help:
- January 14 will be another Team Social, this
one hosted by the Sophomore swimmers - more to come on that.
- Friday January 28 will be final Team Social
hosted by the Freshmen swimmers -- more details to follow.
Then we will move into a series of
Invitational Meets:
- Saturday,
January 15 will be the "A" Invitational -- We will
need support in concession, admissions, food donations, and timing.
This meet will begin in the morning and will likely last until noon
or so.
- Friday,
January 21 will be the Boys "B" Invitational. This
meet will begin at 4 pm and we will need similar support
- Saturday,
January 21 will be the "B" Girls Invitational. This
meet is scheduled to begin at 2 pm. This particular meet will be
more challenging to staff with volunteers as I understand that there
will be some Club team conflicts. Please consider giving your
assistance at this meet.
- Saturday,
January 29 will be the Morris County Invitational -
also a morning meet with similar needs.
As always, we really appreciate the time and
efforts that you devote to supporting the team. Volunteering
at the meets is a great way to connect with other parents in a fun
(although sometimes humid!) environment. Timing is a great way to
be on deck and see the action up close, but if timing is not your
"thing" we can always use your help in another way.
As you know, email is our primary vehicle of
communication and we have been trying various tools to make event
coordination more streamlined. This is still a work in progress so
please bear with us and don't hesitate to provide feedback. That
is the only way we can improve! You can reply to this address or
email me directly at
scortley@optonline.net
We look forward to seeing you at the pool!
Sue and Bruce
Last call for Rugbys!
12/3/2010

The order for the Rugbys will go in tomorrow.
This is the last call to order a Rugby shirt. The form and picture
can be found on the website. If you have any questions please
email Shari Ramirez at

Colonial Relays Volunteer Sign ups
12/1/2010
Thank you to all those who have come forward to help us on Friday night
as we host our first invitational of the 2010 season.
Attached is a final copy of all positions. My apologies, there is no
admission collection for this meet. I filled those people into slots
where I had openings. Thank you for being so flexible.
Please check in with me (or Shari Ramierez) when you get to the high
school on Friday. Timers, note your lanes assignments. I thought it
would be easier to know where you need to be to avoid confusion on the
deck as we switch timers. Please let me know if this is helpful.
Thanks!!

Colonial Relays - we still need your help!
11/29/2010
Dear Parents,
The Colonial Relays are only a few days away!
Maria Cataldo still needs to hear from you regarding volunteering at the
meet and Kerry Manning is still looking for donations of cookies and/or
brownies.
As stated in previous emails, if your child is on
the Swim Team, we plan on your active participation as a volunteer.
With the number of swimmers on the team, this should not ever be an
issue.
Please email Maria at
mcat72805@yahoo.com for
volunteering at the meet.
Please email Kerry Manning at
bresman5@optonline.net for
your donations.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated
cooperation.

11/27/2010
Dear Parents,
Please note that Maria Cataldo has sent out a

Maria know. We can still use your help.
Thank you in advance for your participation!

Colonial Relays - FRIDAY DECEMBER 3
11/26/2010
Dear all,
Our first meet, the Colonial Relays, will be this
Friday, December 3. The meet will begin at 4, but
we will be needing volunteers and donations. You may have seen a
note from Maria Cataldo who is coordinating volunteers (timers,
concession, set up, clean up, etc) -- Again, this is for
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3. As this is short notice we would
appreciate your prompt response to Maria.
We are also looking for donation of cookies and
brownies which can be sold at the concession. For this meet, The
Booster club will be providing the rest of the food to be sold at the
concession.
If you can donate cookies or brownies please
contact Kerry Manning at
bresman5@optonline.net. We appreciate receiving the
cookies packaged and ready for sale. If the cookies are large,
Costco size cookies, 3 to a package or baggie would be perfect.
These meets can only be successful with the support
of parents and we need NEW volunteers!
Thank you in advance for your support
Sue
The Rugbys are Ready to be Ordered!
11/25/2010
We are ready to order the rugbys! The seniors
have chosen the design (it is different from what we displayed at the
parent meeting) and we have the pricing confirmed. They will be
custom made for us and there is a minimum of 18 shirts needed to place
an order. This will not be a problem this year, as they have not
been ordered by the swim team for the past 3 or 4 years, BUT this means
that we cannot reorder to take late orders and it is a strong
possibility that we will only be able to order them every other
year, based upon demand.
Because they are made to our design, there is a
good possibility they will not be ready before the holiday break, but we
will do our best.... no guarantees, though if you are planning it as a
gift. (You can always wrap the picture from the website)
All other items have been ordered and should be in
around the first week of December, except for the long sleeve tee
shirts, which are still being designed. All orders will be
distributed to the swimmers at a practice as soon as we receive them.
The rugbys are 100% cotton and although I have not
seen one, I would expect shrinking because of this, just FYI.
The body of the shirt is oxford gray, as are the cuffs. The main
wide stripes on the chest and sleeves are maroon and is surrounded by
two narrow white stripes. The collar is white. The
shirts will be embroidered in orange (for Van) with "Morristown
Swimming" and a swimmer on the left chest and personalized on the right.
The price is $58
There is an order form on the website. The
deadline to order (so we can try to get them before the holiday break)
is December 3rd. Due to the personalization and
cost, we MUST have the money before we can place
the order. You can place your order by email to Shari Ramirez at
teekadee2@hotmail.com or
regular mail and send the checks made out to MHS Swim Boosters to my
house for guaranteed receipt (some previous orders came late because
kids forgot to turn them in) My address is: Shari Ramirez, 21
Gallagher Road, Morristown, NJ 07960. You can also send them in to
the SWIM OFFICE to my attention. If you are emailing, please
include size and name (first OR last preferable) for
personalization and contact info for the parent. We are only
ordering rugbys at this time.
thank you,
Shari Ramirez

Change of Date for Pasta Party
11/15/2010
Dear Parents
You may be aware that MHS Football was victorious
on Saturday and will therefore have a game on Friday night. We
have been successful in securing the Morris Plains Community Center for
Saturday, November 20. The Pasta Party will now be on
Saturday, November 20 from 2:30 to 5:30.
As stated before this first social event is an
important team building for the swimmers, so I hope that this schedule
change will enable even better attendance.
Please let us know if your swimmer will NOT be able
to attend.

RE: My Apologies
11/12/2010
The original SignUpGenius invitation for the Parent
Social has been changed so that you can respond without creating an
account. You do have to enter your e-mail address to verify you
are part of the group however.
Please let us know if there are any issues or problems. Thanks.
Mike Swift
My Apologies
11/11/2010
While setting up the SignUpGenius event for the
Parent Social I inadvertently set the request up as a mailing where the
recipients have to create accounts in order to sign up. I am
correcting that in future requests. Any future request should
allow you to enter your e-mail address to identify yourself but you will
not be required to have a SignUpGenius account.
We are trying this system out to make the process of gathering donations
and signing people up for work assignments easier for our parent
volunteers. It is also creating a record of what needs to be done
for each event so that future parent volunteers will have the benefit of
our experience.
Regarding the sign up request for SignUpGenius, I have been using the
system for well over a year with other swim organizations. It
works well. If you have concerns about setting up an account then
don't. I can tell you from personal experience that in the time I
have been using their system I have only gotten one e-mail from them.
They do not flood your inbox with promotional messages.
Again, my apologies. Please bear with us while we get this process
up and running.

Swim Team Clothing
10/29/2010
Dear Parents:
While we are still awaiting the new design for the tee shirt as well as
the final price on the rugby, we have decided to go ahead with the
ordering of the other items. The deadline for ordering has been
extended to November 8th. All orders for lacrosse jackets, hoodies,
sweatpants and backpack bags will be placed that week, so hopefully we
can have them to you around the first week of December. we will let you
know the status of the long sleeve tee shirt and rugby as soon as they
are confirmed and we will set another deadline for those items at that
time.
Order forms, along with payment are to be returned to the SWIM OFFICE
only (by the pool). Although Coach G has other mailboxes (main office,
athletic office), it is necessary to have one single point of delivery
so we don't lose orders. Thank you for your cooperation.

usual enthusiastic support.
As you know, there will be a Mandatory Meeting this *Thursday, October

Swimmers and at least one parent must attend. Please bring $10 per
swimmer ($10 per family if multiple swimmers) to the meeting. In
advance of the
meeting, if you can send updated email addresses to me or to Mike Swift
at
mkswift@optonline.net that would be fantastic. Our current email
address
